We are participating in packing Backpacks for Appalachia again this year. Please have your packed backpack at the church at the morning service on November 5. Make sure that you have all of the necessary papers attached to or in the backpack. See Jane Moore for more information.
SOME GIFT SUGGESTIONS:
Toys: cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, yo-yos, jump ropes, sidewalk chalk, Frisbee, card games such as Old Maid, Go Fish, etc.
School Supplies: pens, pencils (with sharpeners) crayons, markers, writing pads, paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books
Hygiene Items: toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (boxed and in a plastic bag), hairbrush, comb, washcloth, ponytail holders, hair clips, etc.
Other: age appropriate Bible, Christian books, socks, t-shirts, hats, sunglasses, pop-top cans of food, hard candy, lollipops, mints, gum, etc. Double bag all candy. NO chocolate.
Ideas for older kids (10-14):
Girls: lip gloss, costume jewelry, fashion scarves, friendship bracelets, craft kits, journals, fun socks, & slippers, doodle books, etc.
Boys: legos, card games, hand held electronic games, basketball, soccer ball, Nerf football
DO NOT INCLUDE items that can be easily crushed or broken, perishable food, or knives
